  1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  4. Remove the left IP end cap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Important: With the AIR BAG Fuse removed and the ignition switch in the RUN position, The AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.

  6. Remove the AIR BAG Fuse from the fuse block. Refer to Fuse Block Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  7. Object Number: 202105  Size: SH
  8. Remove the left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  9. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) from the driver yellow 2-way connector located near the base of the steering column.

  10. Object Number: 202110  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the driver yellow 2-way connector located near the base of the steering column.

  12. Object Number: 202113  Size: SH
  13. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) from the passenger yellow 2-way connector located near the base of the steering column.

  14. Object Number: 202118  Size: SH
  15. Disconnect the passenger yellow 2-way connector located near the base of the steering column.
