Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Allow the front suspension to hang free. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 490128  Size: SH
  5. Support the front suspension support with a suitable jackstand.
  6. Remove the rear mounting bolts from the front suspension support.
  7. Remove the center mounting bolts from the front suspension support.
  8. Remove the front mounting bolts from the front suspension support.
  9. Lower the front suspension support approximately 15 cm (6 in) by adjusting the jackstands down.

  11. Remove the bolts (1) from the clamps (2) attaching the stabilizer shaft (3) to the suspension support (4).
  12. Remove the stabilizer shaft (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the stabilizer shaft (3) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolts (1) to the clamps (2) attaching the stabilizer shaft (3) to the front suspension support (4). Hand tighten the bolts.

  3. Object Number: 490128  Size: SH
  4. Install the front mounting bolts to the front suspension support. Hand tighten the bolts.
  5. Install the center mounting bolts to the front suspension support. Hand tighten the bolts.
  6. Install the rear mounting bolts to the front suspension support. Hand tighten the bolts.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the rear mounting bolts to the front suspension support.
  9. Tighten

    1. Tighten the left rear board bolt to 110 N·m (71 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the right rear board bolt to 110 N·m (71 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the left front board bolt to 110 N·m (71 lb ft).
    4. Tighten the right front board bolt to 110 N·m (71 lb ft).
    5. Tighten the center bolts to 110 N·m (71 lb ft).
    6. Tighten the stabilizer shaft clamp bolts to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).
  10. Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  11. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
