Engineering is asking that all V-5 compressors replaced on these 1988 model vehicles after these breakpoints be returned so that effectiveness of the compressor changes can be analyzed. This program will run through August, 1989. Parts should be returned to:
Harrison Radiator Division, GMC ATTN: Ursula Morris - Q.A. Moraine Operation Dock 31 3600 Dryden Road Moraine, OH 45438
Please use standard labor time and codes for required replacements.
This return request will also be reflected at the end of your weekly claim memos through the Chevrolet National Selective Parts Return Program.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
