INTERMITTENT 2ND GEAR STARTS CB AND HY MODEL THM 125-C

1983 THM 125C model "CB" and "HY" transmissions, may experience a condition where the transmission will start out in second gear. Beginning with transmission serial numbers 83-CB-29352 and 83-HY-3199, all "CB" and "HY" model THM 125C transmissions are now being produced with a governor assembly that has the primary spring removed.

When servicing any 1983 THM 125C "CB" or "HY" model transmission built prior to the above serial numbers, with a second gear condition, refer to the following service procedure:

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Refer to the service manual for proper removal and installation procedures:

1. Remove the governor assembly from the transmission. 2. Remove the primary spring from the governor assembly. 3. Reinstall the governor assembly.
