Subject:Poor or Rough Idle, Lack of Power, or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) On, EVAP Hose Worn (Inspect for Presence of EVAP Hose Retaining Clip, Install Clip, and/or Replace EVAP Hose)

Models:2007 Chevrolet Captiva, Captiva Maxx (Export Only)
with 3.2L V-6 Engine (RPO LU1)

Condition

Some customers may comment on poor or rough idle, lack of power, an illuminated MIL or a worn evaporative emission system (EVAP) hose in the engine compartment.

Cause

An EVAP hose retaining clip may not be present, which may allow the EVAP hose to rub against a metal bracket. A worn EVAP hose may cause poor idle, lack of power, or an illuminated MIL.

Correction

Object Number: 1866372 Size: SH

Dealers should inspect for the presence of the EVAP hose retaining clip (1).

If the clip is not present, install a new clip, P/N 96629450.

Also inspect the EVAP hose for signs of wear. If the EVAP hose is already worn, replace the EVAP hose with a new hose.
