Unable to Disarm Alarm System - Siren Sounds Genuine Accessory

Diagnostic Fault Information

Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description

This diagnostic procedure should be used in the case of the following: The alarm siren sounds after disarming the alarm and turning the ignition key to IGN l. The alarm siren tests the integrity of the wiring between the alarm module and the alarm siren. In the event that an error is detected in the circuit, the siren will sound after the ignition key is turned to the IGN l position.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, alarm module harness connector and alarm siren harness connector disconnect.
  2. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the alarm module harness connector terminal 5 and the alarm siren harness connector terminal 3.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the alarm module harness connector terminal 5 and ground.
  5. If not the specified value, replace the alarm module harness.
  6. Test for infinite resistance between the alarm module harness connector terminal 5 and B+.
  7. If not the specified value, replace the alarm module harness.
  8. Replace the siren and test the alarm operation.
  9. If the alarm system is still inoperative, replace the alarm module.
