Electronic Suspension Strut Actuator Test HSV

Diagnostic Fault Information

Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description

The electronic suspension control (ESC) module commands variable levels of pulse width modulated current to each dampener in response to rough and abrupt steering manoeuvring driving conditions. The ESC module continuously compares each dampeners command state with the state of their feedback circuits to ensure they agree. This test enables the technician to operate the actuators individually to aid diagnosis if no DTC's are set.

Diagnostic Aids

    • Verify that no other DTCs are present, if any other DTCs are present diagnose those DTCs prior to continuing with this test. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
    • Vehicle must be on level ground with no load or occupants.
