THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO CHANGE "CORRECTION" ITEM #3 AND ADD ITEM #5. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON HARD HORN EFFORT.
OVER TORQUE OF STEERING WHEEL NUT.
TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION USE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:
1. REMOVE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG MODULE (SEE SERVICE MANUAL) AND DETERMINE IF END OF STEERING SHAFT IS INTERFERING WITH BACK OF MODULE. (MARKS ON BACK OF MODULE.)
2. IF INTERFERENCE IS FOUND, REMOVE STEERING WHEEL AND REINSTALL, TORQUE TO 41 N.M (30 LBS. FT.).
IF INTERFERENCE STILL EXISTS, REPLACE STEERING WHEEL WITH A NEW ONE. TORQUE TO 41 N.M (30 LBS. FT.).
3. REMOVE WHITE HORN SWITCHES (ITEM 3, FIGURE 1) BY PULLING THEM OUT OF STEERING WHEEL. INSTALL SPACER (ITEM 10, FIGURE 1) P/N 16757047, UNDER EACH SWITCH AS INDICATED. ALSO, REMOVE AND DISCARD BUSHING (#7) FROM BOTH SIDES.
4. REINSTALL SWITCH AND ALL PREVIOUSLY REMOVED PARTS. TORQUE STEERING WHEEL TO 41 N.M (30 LBS. FT.).
5. ADVISE OWNER FOR EASE OF HORN OPERATION, PRESS AT UPPER EDGE (#1).
PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE ON 3/21/94.
FOR VEHICLES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, USE: LABOR OPERATION: E7100 USE PUBLISHED LABOR OPERATION TIME.
