Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 481848  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Support the rear axle with an adjustable jack stand.
  3. Remove the jounce bumper bolts (1).

  4. Object Number: 181230  Size: SH
  5. Remove the jounce bumper (2).
  6. Remove the jounce bumper spacer, if equipped.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 181230  Size: SH
  1. Install the jounce bumper spacer, if equipped.
  2. Install the jounce bumper (2).

  3. Object Number: 481848  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the jounce bumper bolts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the jounce bumper bolts (1) to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Remove the rear axle support.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
