SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE AN ENGINE OIL LEAK AT THE OIL PAN TO PAN RAIL SURFACE.
THE COMPRESSED STATE OF THE OIL PAN GASKET IS INADEQUATE ON SOME ENGINES DUE TO VARIATION IN THE OIL PAN SEALING SURFACE.
FOLLOW NORMAL DIAGNOSTICS IN THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR IDENTIFYING ENGINE OIL LEAKS. IF AN OIL LEAK IS EVIDENT AT THE OIL PAN TO CYLINDER BLOCK PAN RAIL SEALING INTERFACE, REPLACE THE OIL PAN GASKET. A NEW GASKET, PART NUMBER 14090535, HAS BEEN RELEASED FOR SERVICE. THE NEW GASKET IS THICKER THAN THE PREVIOUS GASKET. FOLLOW THE SERVICE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THE SERVICE MANUAL. REMEMBER TO INSPECT FOR OIL LEAKS **AFTER** THE REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE.
