SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ABOUT RATTLES COMING FROM THE REAR COMPARTMENT AREA.
THIS CONDITION MAY BE DUE TO TOO MUCH CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE LOCK ROD AND LOCK ASSEMBLY OR THE DISC PORTION OF THE LOCK ROD MAY BE LOOSE AND RATTLING ON THE ROD.
1. CAREFULLY LOOSEN AND REPOSITION THE REAR END TRIM PANEL TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO ROD AND LATCH.
2. APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SILICONE ADHESIVE OR CLOTH BODY TAPE (DUCT TAPE) TO THE ROD AT THE DISC AREA TO PREVENT RATTLES AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1, SECTION A-A.
3. APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SILICONE ADHESIVE TO THE END OF THE ROD AT THE LATCH ASSEMBLY TO PREVENT RATTLES AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1, VIEW A.
4. REINSTALL THE REAR END TRIM PANEL.
5. ALLOW ADHESIVE TO DRY FOR ONE (1) HOUR BEFORE OPERATING LOCK OR RETURNING VEHICLE TO CUSTOMER.
