COLOR CHANGE ON CODE 21E-CAMARO NORWOOD PRODUCTION

Subject: COLOR CHANGE ON CODE 21E-1982 CAMARO-NORWOOD PRODUCTION

Light blue metallic (Code 21E, high solids enamel) paint used on 1982 Norwood production was reformulated to achieve a better color match between the body sheet metal and fascias. The reformulated paint was to be identified by adding an "N" to the paint code (21EN) on the body plate (refer to Chevrolet bulletin 82-I-67, April, 1982).

Because the "N" was never added, some confusion may exist when determining which shade of light blue metallic (21E or 21EN) was used.

All light blue metallic cars painted at Norwood after February 15, 1982, were painted with Code 21EN.

Following are the paint formula numbers for Code 21EN along with the corresponding suppliers.

Formula Number Supplier ------- ---------- 13144 Inmont

33012 Sherwin Williams/Acme/Rogers

32-5242 Martin Senour

15673 Ditzler

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
