Removal Procedure
Important: Ensure that the headlamp switch is OFF and that the ignition switch
is in the LOCK position.
- Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the screws that
retain the IP dimmer switch to the instrument panel accessory trim plate.
- Remove the IP dimmer switch from the instrument panel accessory
trim plate.
- Remove the fog lamp switch from the IP dimmer switch panel. Refer
to
Fog Lamp Switch Replacement
.
- Remove the headlamp leveling switch from the IP dimmer switch
panel, if equipped. Refer to
Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement
.
Installation Procedure
- Install the headlamp leveling
switch to the IP dimmer switch panel, if removed. Refer to
Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement
.
- Install the fog lamp switch to the IP dimmer switch panel. Refer
to
Fog Lamp Switch Replacement
.
- Install the IP dimmer switch panel to the instrument panel accessory
trim plate.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
that retain the IP dimmer switch panel to the instrument panel accessory trim
plate.
Tighten
Tighten the IP dimmer switch screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gages, and Console.
