Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.

    2. Object Number: 567860 Size: SH

    Important: Do not remove the C clip from the cruise control end connector.

  2. The C clip was not designed for removal. Damage may occur.

    3. Object Number: 567851 Size: SH
  3. Do not remove the adjuster screw from the end of the cruise control cable. No adjustment will be needed.

    4. Object Number: 580244 Size: SH
  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle linkage.

    5. Use a suitable tool to lightly pry off the end of the cruise control cable from the stud on the throttle lever.

  5. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the round hole in the engine cable bracket.

    6. Object Number: 597198 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the cruise control cable locator clip from the rectangular hole in the routing bracket.

    7. Object Number: 622085 Size: SH
  7. Remove the cruise control cable and clip from the cable bracket.

    8. Object Number: 622087 Size: SH
  8. Remove the cruise control cable from the accelerator cable clip.

    9. Object Number: 597101 Size: SH
  9. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module housing.

    10. Important: Do not allow the cruise control ribbon (1) to retract into the module assembly.

  10. Disconnect the cruise control cable bead (2) from the end of the ribbon (1).
  11. Remove the cruise control cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the cruise control cable to the vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 293672 Size: SH
  2. Remove all bends and twists from the cruise control module ribbon and cable, by rotating until removed.

    3. Object Number: 597101 Size: SH

    Important: 

       • Do not twist the cruise control module ribbon (1).
       • Pull the cruise control cable (2) to verify retention to the ribbon (1).

  3. Attach the cruise control cable bead (2) to the cruise control module ribbon (1).

    4. Object Number: 293695 Size: SH
  4. Check the orientation of the cruise control ribbon buckle to the cable end fitting.

    5. Object Number: 487408 Size: SH
  5. Slide the cruise control cable conduit over the ribbon.
    6. 5.1. Install the tangs to the cruise control module housing.
    5.2. Ensure that the tangs snap securely into place.

  6. Snap the cruise control cable engine-end fitting (2) over the stud (1) on the throttle cam lever.

    7. Object Number: 580230 Size: SH
  7. Connect the cruise control cable conduit fitting to the round hole in the engine cable bracket.

    8. Ensure that the tabs snap securely into the hole.

  8. Connect the cruise control cable locator clip to the rectangular hole in the routing bracket.
    9. 8.1. Route the cruise control cable above the accelerator cable.
    8.2. Ensure that the clip snaps securely into place.

  9. Install the cruise control cable and clip in the cable bracket.

    10. Object Number: 622087 Size: SH
  10. Install the cruise control cable in the accelerator cable clip.

    11. Object Number: 418780 Size: SH
  11. Connect the electrical connection to the cruise control servo module.
  12. Test the systems operation.
  13. Close the hood.
