Did you review the seat belt circuit description and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the fasten safety belt indicator is inoperative.

Does the fasten safety belt indicator operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Was the instrument panel cluster (IPC) system check performed?

Go to Step 4

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. With a scan tool select instrument cluster (IPC), special functions, and lamp test.
3. Command the seat belt lamp ON.

Does the seat belt lamp turn ON and OFF when commanded?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 5

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 6
