Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering column bracket. Refer to Steering Column Bracket Replacement in Steering Column.

  2. Object Number: 416716  Size: SH
  3. Remove the master cylinder rod from the clutch pedal.

  4. Object Number: 416709  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt and nut securing the clutch pedal, brake pedal, spacers, and bushings to the pedal support.

Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a thin coat of lubricant to the insides of the bushings. Use GM P/N 1052271 or equivalent.

  2. Object Number: 416709  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt and nut securing the clutch pedal, brake pedal, spacers, and bushings to the pedal support.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nut to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  5. Secure the master cylinder rod to the clutch pedal.
  6. Install the steering column bracket. Refer to Steering Column Bracket Replacement in Steering Column.
