Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 4564  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the underbody shields. Refer to Steering Linkage Shield Replacement in Steering Linkage (Non-Rack and Pinion).
  3. Notice: Broken or deteriorated mounts can cause misalignment and destruction of certain drive train components. When a single mount breaks, the remaining mounts are subjected to abnormally high stresses.

  4. Remove the engine mount through-bolt and nut for the side being replaced.

  5. Object Number: 374320  Size: SH

    Notice: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Lifting the engine in an unapproved manner may cause component damage.

  6. Remove the starter In order to access the square tab at the rear of the engine block on the right side. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  7. Using a jack on the square tab (left side shown) raise the engine.
  8. Raise the engine only enough to remove the engine mount.

  10. Remove the bolts for the engine mount frame bracket.
  11. Remove the engine mount bracket.

  12. Object Number: 199011  Size: SH
  13. Remove the bolts holding the engine mount to the engine.
  14. Remove the engine mount with the shield.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 199013  Size: SH
  1. Sub-assemble the engine mount, shield, and one bolt.

  2. Object Number: 199011  Size: SH
  3. Install the engine mount and shield to the engine.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the engine mount to engine bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount to engine bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  7. Install the engine mount frame bracket to the frame.
  8. Install the engine mount frame bracket bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount frame bracket bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  10. Lower the engine and remove the jack.

  11. Object Number: 4564  Size: SH
  12. Install the through-bolt and nut.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the through-bolt nut to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).

  14. Install the starter if removed. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  15. Install the underbody shield. Refer to Steering Linkage Shield Replacement in Steering Linkage (Non-Rack and Pinion).
  16. Lower the vehicle.
