Heated Mirror Circuit Description

When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, power is available to the electronic climate control module heated mirror solid state timer from the HVAC fuse 21, through CKT 341 (BRN). Power is also available at all times to the rear defogger relay switch contacts. Depressing the rear defogger switch on the heater and A/C controller starts the solid state timer, which actuates the rear defogger relay in order to apply voltage to the HTD MIR fuse. Voltage from the HTD MIR fuse is applied to CKT 2267 (ORN) to both of the power outside rear view mirror heating elements. Because the heating elements are grounded through CKT 1850 (BLK) (G204) and 1850 (BLK) (G200/G201), both of the heated mirror elements energize. The solid state timer nominally times for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the timer de-energizes the relay. Depressing the switch again re-initiates the timed operation. The relay also de-energizes when the ignition switch is not in the RUN position.
