Verify that the power windows lockout function is inoperative.

Does the power windows lockout function operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Access the RH door lock and side window switch.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Place the side window lockout switch in the LOCKED position.
  4. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) to CKT 1307 (DK BLU), terminal B at the side window lockout switch and ground.
  5. Test for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is battery voltage present?

B+

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the side window lockout switch in the LOCKED position.
  3. Connect a DMM to CKT 1307 (DK BLU) at S306 and ground.
  4. Test for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is battery voltage present?

B+

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 1307 (DK BLU) between the side window lockout switch and S306. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the side window lockout switch.

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
