DEFINITION: This diagnostic table should only be used if the outside rear view mirror, RH, moves up and down but will not move left to right.

Did you perform the Power Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the outside rear view mirror, RH, is inoperative in the LEFT/RIGHT direction.

Do the power mirrors operate normally?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the outside rear view mirror, RH, connector.
  2. Position the selector switch to the outside rear view mirror, RH.
  3. Connect a test lamp between CKT 81 (WHT) cavity E and ground.
  4. Press the switch to the right position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the outside rear view mirror, RH. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate and repair open in CKT 81 (WHT) between the outside rear view mirror, RH, and the power mirror switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If there is no open, replace the power mirror switch.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you find and correct the condition?
