Removal Procedure
- Remove the fender. Refer
to
Front Fender Replacement
in Body
Front End.
- Remove 6 flare to fender retaining screws around the wheel opening.
- Remove 6 fender to flare retaining nuts from the left-hand flair
or 5 nuts from the right-hand flair, from inside of the fender.
- Remove the flare.
Installation Procedure
- Install the flare to the
fender. Refer to
Front Fender Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Loosely install the flare to the fender with 6 retaining nuts
for the left-hand fender or 5 nuts for the right-hand fender.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Loosely install
the flare to the fender with 6 retaining nuts for the left-hand fender or
5 nuts for the right-hand fender.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install 6 flare to fender retaining screws in the wheel opening.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the fender to the vehicle. Refer to
Front Fender Replacement
in Body Front End.
