Did you perform the Horns Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the horns are always on.

Do the horns operate normally?

Remove the horn relay from the underhood fuse block.

Does the horn continue to sound?

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 1329 (DK GRN) between the underhood fuse block connector C4 cavity A6 and horn cavity B, LH/RH. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp from horn relay cavity 1 to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the horn switch connector in the steering column.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the horn switch terminal (feed side) to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the horn relay. Refer to Horn Relay Replacement .

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 28 (BLK) between the horn relay and the horn switch/BCM. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the horn switch. Refer to Horn Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column Steering-Tilt.
