  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Replace the batteries in the transmitter if the condition is unknown. Refer to Transmitter Battery Replacement .
  3. Depress the lock button then the unlock button on the transmitter.

Do the doors lock then unlock?

  1. Try a known good transmitter.
  2. Using a scan tool, program the transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Programming .
  3. Depress the lock button then the unlock button on the transmitter.

  1. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver.
  2. Connect a test lamp from terminal 1 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1140 (ORN) between the TBC fuse, located in the underhood fuse block and the remote control door lock receiver terminal 1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) from terminal 4 to ground and check for continuity.

Is there continuity?

Locate and repair the open in CKT  451 (BLK/WHT) between the remote control door lock receiver terminal 4 and G105. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the voltage from terminal 2 to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is the voltage vary within the value indicated?

1-10 V

  1. Disconnect the BCM.
  2. Using a DMM, check the continuity of CKT 461 (ORN). Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is the wire open?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 461 (ORN) between the BCM and the remote control door lock receiver terminal 2. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Receiver Replacement .

  1. Reconnect any previously disconnected components.
  2. Using a scan tool, program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming .
