  1. Using the scan tool, select Instrument Panel Cluster.
  2. Select Data Display.
  3. Select OUTPUTS.

Does the REAR GATE/DOOR output indicate CLOSED with the lift glass open?

  1. Using the scan tool, select Body Control Module.
  2. Select Data Display.
  3. Select Data List.
  4. Select INPUT 1.

Does the REAR GATE/DOOR output indicate CLOSED with the lift glass open?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Ensure that the gate is open.
  3. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) to ground.
  4. Backprobe the BCM connector C2 (BLU) terminal B10 (CKT 1303).

Is battery voltage present?

  1. Connect a 5A fused jumper wire to ground.
  2. Backprobe the BCM connector C2 (BLU) terminal B10 (CKT 1303).

Is the TAIL GATE ALARM indicator on the IP illuminated?

  1. Access the rear window wiper cutout and liftglass ajar jamb switch.
  2. Disconnect the rear window wiper cutout and liftglass ajar jamb switch connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Connect a 5A fused jumper between the rear window wiper cutout and liftglass ajar jamb switch connector terminal A and terminal B.

Is the TAIL GATE ALARM indicator on the IP illuminated?

Using a 5A fused jumper wire connector the rear window wiper cutout and liftglass ajar jamb switch connector terminal A to ground.

Locate and repair the open or the high resistance in CKT 1350 between the gate ajar switch terminal B and G450. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open or the high resistance in CKT 1303 (PNK/BLK) between the rear window wiper cutout and liftglass ajar jamb switch terminal A and the BCM connector C2 terminal B10. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Replace the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the BCM.
  2. Reconnect all of the disconnected components.
  3. Program the BCM with the proper calibrations.
  4. Perform the Passlockā„¢ Learn Procedure using the scan tool.
  5. Using the scan tool, clear all of the DTCs.
