The power antenna operates automatically with the operation of the radio. With the radio turned ON, the radio place's voltage ON (CKT) 314 (PNK) which supplies power to the antenna assembly. The power assembly motor operates in order to raise the antenna. The radio fuse, in the underhood fuse block, supplies power at all times to the power antenna through CKT 1140 (ORN). The power antenna assembly grounds through CKT 850 (BLK) to ground G117. Turning the radio OFF removes the voltage from CKT 314 (PNK) and the power antenna assembly automatically lowers the antenna. When the ignition switch is turned OFF with the radio still ON, the antenna automatically lowers. The antenna raise's again when the ignition switch is placed in RUN or ACC, and the radio will start to play.
