Verify that one of the stoplamps is inoperative.

Do the stoplamps operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative bulb.
  2. Inspect the bulb.

Is the bulb open?

Connect a test lamp between ground and cavity A at the inoperative lamp socket and apply the brakes. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1320 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

Connect a test lamp between the inoperative tail lamp socket terminal A and terminal G while depressing the brake pedal. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the bulb.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1350 (BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
