Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 406294 Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the front left fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement .
  3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  4. Remove the electrical connectors as necessary.

    5. Important: Cut as straight as possible as the access cover must be replaced and part of this repair is visible to the customer.

  5. Cut through the cover on the cut line with a razor blade or a sharp utility knife.
  6. Remove the access cover screws.
  7. Remove the cooling tube.
  8. Remove the wiring harness from the blower motor assembly.
  9. Remove the blower motor assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the blower motor assembly.
  2. Install the wiring harness to the blower motor assembly.
  3. Install the cooling tube.
  4. Install the access cover.
  5. Install the blower motor access cover retaining screws.
  6. Install the coolant reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  7. Install the electrical connectors as necessary.
  8. Install the front left fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement .
  9. Connect the battery negative cable.
