  1. Ensure that the transmission linkage is properly adjusted.
  2. Inspect the CLSTR fuse 23 in the IP fuse block

Is the fuse good?

  1. Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 1020 (PNK) and/or CKT 1996 (YEL). Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. Reinstall the fuse.

Connect a test lamp between ground and terminal F at the automatic transmission controller. Refer to Troubleshooting with a Test Lamp in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between ground and terminal C of the automatic transmission controller. Refer to Troubleshooting with a Test Lamp in Wiring Systems.
  2. Place the gear shift selector in PARK.

  1. Connect a test lamp between ground and terminal C at the automatic transmission controller. Refer to Troubleshooting with a Test Lamp in Wiring Systems.
  2. Place the gear shift selector in any gear except PARK.

Replace the park switch on the automatic transmission controller. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Assemble - Off Vehicle .

  1. Connect a test lamp between ground and terminal B at the park lock solenoid connector in the steering column. Refer to Troubleshooting with a Test Lamp in Wiring Systems.
  2. Place the gear shift selector in any gear except PARK.

Using a digital multimeter (DMM), test for continuity from the park lock solenoid terminal A and ground. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is there continuity?

Replace the park lock solenoid. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Assemble - Off Vehicle .

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1850 (BLK) from the park lock solenoid and G205. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
