Removal Procedure
Important: After installation, calibrate the new EBCM to the tire size that is
appropriate to the vehicle. Refer to Tire Size Calibration in
Scan Tool Diagnostics
.
- Remove the four bolts
(3) that fasten the EHCU bracket (5) to the vehicle mounting bracket
(2, 9).
- Remove the four T-25 Torx®
screws (1) that fasten the EBCM (11) to the BPMV (10).
Important: Do not use a tool to pry the EBCM or the BPMV. Excessive force will
damage the EBCM.
- Partially remove the EBCM (11) from the BPMV (10) enough to access the
electrical connectors. Removal may require a light amount of force.
- Disconnect the four electrical connectors from EBCM.
- Fully remove the EBCM (11) from the BPMV (10).
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not reuse the old mounting screws. Always install new mounting screws
with the new EBCM.
Important: Do not use RTV or any other type of sealant on the EBCM gasket or mating
surfaces.
- Install EBCM (11) on to
the BPMV (10).
- Connect the four electrical connectors to the EBCM.
Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the four new T-25 Torx® screws (1) in the EBCM (11).
Tighten
Tighten the four T-25 Torx® screws to 5 N·m (39 lb in)
in an X-pattern.
- Install the EHCU (4) to
the vehicle frame (2, 9).
- Install the four 10 mm bolts (3) that fasten the EHCU bracket
(5) to the vehicle mounting bracket (2, 9).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool. Refer to Tire
Size Calibration in
Scan Tool Diagnostics
