Tools Required

1. Remove the brake drum and the wheel.
2. Remove the axle shaft. Refer to Axle Shaft Replacement .
3. Remove the seal. Use a seal removal tool behind the steel case of the seal. Do NOT damage the housing.



4. Remove the bearing. Use the J 2619-O1 and the J 22813-A as shown. The tangs of the tool should engage the bearing outer race.

Tools Required

1. Install the brake drum and the wheel.



2. Install the bearing with the J 23765 until the tool bottoms against the housing shoulder.
3. Lubricate the bearing with axle lubricant.



4. Install the seal (1). Use the J 23771 until the seal is flush with the axle tube.
5. Lubricate the seal lips with axle lubricant.
6. Install the axle shaft. Refer to Axle Shaft Replacement .
