Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement PS Pump Mounting Bracket

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the throttle body and the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
  2. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 288836  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt holding the power steering fluid reservoir filler neck to the power steering pump mounting bracket.
  6. Turn the filler neck out of the way.

  7. Object Number: 179249  Size: SH

    Important: Do not evacuate the air conditioning system.

  8. Remove the mounting bolts for the air conditioning (A/C) compressor.
  9. Move the A/C compressor aside and support.

  11. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.
  12. Remove the three bolts holding the power steering pump to the power steering pump mounting bracket.

  13. Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  14. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the power steering pump mounting bracket to the engine.
  15. Slide the power steering pump mounting bracket off the stud and power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  1. Slide the power steering pump mounting bracket on the stud and the power steering pump.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the three bolts and the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bracket bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the three bolts for the power steering pump.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bracket to power steering pump bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

  10. Align and then install the bolt holding the power steering fluid reservoir filler neck to the power steering pump mounting bracket.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the filler neck bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  12. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  13. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  14. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body and the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.

Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement Generator Mounting Bracket

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 380009  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt holding the accelerator control cable bracket to the generator bracket.
  6. Move the accelerator control cable bracket with the wiring harness and the cables aside.
  7. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  8. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement
  9. Remove the belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  10. Object Number: 196643  Size: SH
  11. Remove the two bolts and nut holding the generator mounting bracket to the engine.
  12. Slide the bracket off of the stud.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   1. Slide the generator mounting bracket on the stud.
  2. Install the two bolts and the nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the generator mounting bracket bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  5. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 380009  Size: SH
  7. Install the accelerator control cable bracket and bolt to the generator bracket.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  11. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  12. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
