Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 371332  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  2. Remove the washer solvent container. Refer to Washer Pump/Reservoir Replacement in Wipers/Washer System.
  3. Disconnect the hoses from the coolant recovery reservoir.
  4. Remove the bolts attaching the VCM bracket to the coolant reservoir. Refer to VCM Replacement/Programming in Engine Controls.
  5. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir attaching nuts.
  6. Lift the VCM assembly up and remove the coolant recovery reservoir from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the coolant from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

  1. Lift the VCM assembly up and install the coolant recovery reservoir to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the coolant recovery reservoir attaching nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the coolant reservoir nuts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the bolts attaching the VCM bracket to the coolant reservoir. Refer to VCM Replacement/Programming in Engine Controls.
  6. Connect the hoses to the coolant recovery reservoir.
  7. Install the washer solvent container. Refer to Washer Pump/Reservoir Replacement in Wipers/Washer System.
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  9. Refill the coolant to the reservoir.
