Was the RAP System Check performed?

Go to Step2

Refer to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System Check

  1. Connect the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Do not start the engine.

  4. Select Body Control Module (BCM) on the scan tool.
  5. Perform the BCM system check.
  6. Use the scan tool in order to read the current DTC(s).

Does the scan tool display any current DTC(s)?

Go to Step 3

  1. Select Data Display (INPUT 1) on the scan tool.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to monitor the driver and passenger door jamb switches.
  3. Open and close each door.

Do the inputs toggle from ACTIVE to INACTIVE?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to monitor Ignition 1 input.

Remove the RAP relay.

Does the radio and power windows still operate?

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 75.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  2. Use the appropriate probe from the J 35616-A for the next step.
  3. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the voltage at CKT 39 (PNK) cavity B2 to a good ground.

Does the J 39200 DMM display battery voltage?

Repair a short to battery on CKT 39 (PNK).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the BCM.
  2. Program the BCM with the proper calibrations.
  3. Perform the learn procedure.
