Removal Procedure
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Disconnect the MAF sensor
harness connector.
- Release the air cleaner
cover retainer clips.
Notice:
• | Handle the MAF sensor carefully. |
• | Do not drop the MAF sensor in order to prevent damage to the MAF
sensor. |
• | Do not damage the screen located on the air inlet
end of the MAF. |
• | Do not touch the sensing elements. |
• | Do not allow solvents and lubricants to come in contact with the
sensing elements. |
• | Use a small amount of a soap based solution in order to aid in
the installation. |
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the MAF sensor by loosening
the hose clamp.
- Disconnect the air cleaner
cover from the front of the MAF sensor by loosening the hose clamp.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Point the flow arrows on the MAF sensor away from the air cleaner.
- Attach the MAF sensor to the air cleaner cover by tightening the hose
clamp.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
