Removal Procedure
Important: If the door lock cylinders require replacement for any reason, apply a coating of lubricant. Lubricate the inside of the lock case and the cylinder keyway prior to assembling and installing the cylinder. Use GM P/N 12346241, Canadian P/N 10953474, or an equivalent lubricant.
- Remove the trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector.
- Remove the lock rod from the lock cylinder (3).
- Remove the lock rod retainer (1).
- Remove the lock cylinder and gasket (2).
Installation Procedure
- Code the new lock cylinder. Refer to
Key and Lock Cylinder Coding
in General Information.
- Install the lock cylinder and gasket to the door (2).
- Install the lock cylinder retainer (1).
- Use GM P/N 12345996, High-Temperature Water-Resistant Lubricant (Canadian P/N 10953501) or equivalent in order to lubricate the lock rods and the lock rod guide.
- Install the lock rod to lock cylinder (3).
- Install the water deflector.
- Install the trim panel. Refer to
