Removal Procedure
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt holding the compressor
hose bracket to the fan shroud.
- Remove the compressor hose to condensor block fitting nut.
- Remove the compressor hose from the condenser.
- Remove and discard the seal washer.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the right front fender liner. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Remove the nut holding the compressor
hose to the accumulator.
- Remove the compressor hose from the accumulator.
- Remove and discard the seal washer.
- Remove the block fitting nut from the
compressor.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the compressor.
- Remove compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the compressor sealing washers.
Installation Procedure
- Install the compressor hose assembly.
- Install new sealing washers at the compressor ports Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement
.
- Install the compressor hose set block fitting nut to the compressor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the block fitting nut to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install a new seal washer on the accumulator
end of the compressor hose Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement
.
- Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
- Install the compressor hose nut to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the right front fender liner. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install a NEW seal washer on the condenser
end of the compressor hose.
- Install the compressor hose to the condenser.
- Install the compressor hose nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the compressor hose bracket and bolt to the fan shroud.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor
electrical connector.
- Recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component
using the J 39400-A
.

Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt holding the compressor
hose bracket to the fan shroud.
- Remove the compressor hose to condenser block fitting nut.
- Remove the compressor hose from the condenser.
- Remove and discard the seal washer.

- Remove the right front fender liner. Refer to

- Remove the nut holding the compressor
hose to the accumulator.
- Remove the compressor hose from the accumulator.
- Remove and discard the seal washer.
- Remove the block fitting bolt from the
compressor.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the compressor.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the compressor sealing washers.
Installation Procedure
- Install the compressor hose assembly.
- Install NEW sealing washers at the compressor ports.
- Install the compressor hose assembly block fitting to the compressor.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant

- Install the block fitting bolt to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install a NEW seal washer on the accumulator
end of the compressor hose.
- Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
- Install the compressor hose nut to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the right front fender liner. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install a NEW seal washer on the condenser
end of the compressor hose.
- Install the compressor hose to the condenser.
- Install the compressor hose nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the compressor hose bracket and bolt to the fan shroud.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor
electrical connector.
- Recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component
using the J 39400-A
.
