Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 2.2L

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.

    3. Object Number: 787414 Size: SH
  3. Loosen the air duct clamp.
  4. Remove the intake air duct resonator.

    5. Object Number: 780869 Size: SH
  5. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp from the water outlet (1).
  6. Remove the outlet hose from the water outlet.
  7. Raise and suitable support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    8. Object Number: 349794 Size: SH
  8. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  9. Remove the outlet hose (1) from the radiator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 349794 Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet hose (1) to the radiator.
  2. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp to the radiator.
  3. Lower the vehicle.

    4. Object Number: 780869 Size: SH
  4. Install the outlet hose to the water outlet (1).
  5. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the outlet hose clamp to the water outlet.

    6. Object Number: 787414 Size: SH
  6. Install the intake air duct resonator.
  7. Tighten the air duct clamp.
  8. Connect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 70060 Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Using the J 38185 , reposition the hose clamp at the water pump housing.
  3. Disconnect the outlet hose from (3) the water pump housing (1).
  4. Using the J 38185 , reposition the hose clamp at the radiator.
  5. Disconnect the outlet hose (3) from the radiator (2).
  6. Remove the outlet hose.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 70060 Size: SH
  1. Align the marks on the hose. Install the outlet hose to the radiator.
  2. Install the outlet hose (3) to the radiator (2).
  3. Using the J 38185 , reposition and install the hose clamp at the radiator.
  4. Install the outlet hose (3) to the water pump housing (1).
  5. Using the J 38185 , reposition and install the hose clamp at the water pump housing.
  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
