Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 763193  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the front floor console cup holder.
  3. Remove the instrument panel (IP) accessory trim plate. Pull rearward in order to remove the trim plate.
  4. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Remove the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Remove the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  7. Insert the key and turn the ignition switch lock cylinder to the ON position.
  8. Access the ignition switch through the radio opening. Use a suitable flat-bladed tool in order to depress and hold the lock cylinder retaining tab.
  9. Use the key in order to pull the ignition switch lock cylinder from the ignition switch.

  11. Remove the ignition switch assembly bolts.
  12. Adjust the ignition switch to the IP cluster opening for access.
  13. Depress the park lock cable retainer. Disconnect the park lock cable from the ignition switch.
  14. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition switch.
  15. Remove the ignition switch through the IP cluster opening.

  17. Remove the ignition switch bracket bolts.
  18. Remove the ignition switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 763191  Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition switch bracket to the ignition switch.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the ignition switch bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition switch bracket bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Position the ignition switch to the instrument panel (IP) cluster opening.
  6. Connect the electrical connectors to the ignition switch.
  7. Connect the park lock cable to the ignition switch.
  8. Position the ignition switch assembly to the IP opening.
  9. Install the ignition switch assembly bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition switch assembly bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  11. Insert the key and turn the ignition switch lock cylinder to the ON position.
  12. Align the ignition switch lock cylinder to the ignition switch. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder.
  13. Turn the key to the OFF position and remove the key.
  14. Install the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  15. Install the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  16. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  17. Install the IP accessory trim plate. Press into place until fully seated.
  18. Install the front floor console cupholder.
  19. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
