The body control module (BCM) controls the audible warnings
system. The audible warnings system sounds a chime located in the BCM, in
order to bring attention to one of the following conditions:
| • | The check gauges indicator is on. |
| • | The drivers seat belt is not fastened. |
| • | The key is in the ignition cylinder and the door is open. |
| • | The headlamps are on and the door is open. |
| • | The turn signal is on continuously for a distance of 1.2 km
(0.75 mi.). |
| • | The park brake is engaged and the vehicle is moving faster than
5 km/h (3 mph) or the vehicle is in gear longer than 8 seconds
with the park brake engaged. |
