Subject:Intermittent Battery Goes Dead

Models:2006 Cadillac XLR-V Series Only

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may complain the battery does dead at times. This may be the cause of a calibration concern within the ECM/PCM. This will only apply to the 2006 V-series XLR vehicles.

Recommendation/Instructions:

After performing normal diagnostics for battery drain and have not reached a resolution, reprogram the ECM/PCM with the latest calibration from TIS2WEB. Select the calibration in the "Main Operating System" tab labeled.

"New software contains diagnostics enhancement for DTC P0128 and DTC P0507. Also addresses battery drain."

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
