    • EN-47814 Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator Setting Tool
    • EN-47748 Supercharger Lift Bracket
    • EN-47833 Supercharger Service Holding Fixture

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1685842 Size: SH

    Important: In order to protect and service components, on the supercharger, ensure that the EN-47833 is on the supercharger during this repair procedure.

  1. Remove the supercharger using the EN-47748 . Refer to Supercharger Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 1685844 Size: SH
  2. Install the EN-47833 supercharger service holding fixture to the supercharger while the supercharger is suspended by the engine hoist.
  3. Place the supercharger on a workbench and remove the engine hoist.

  4. Remove the rear section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly. Refer to Supercharger Inlet Duct Assembly Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1644293 Size: SH
  5. Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement.

    6. Object Number: 1644295 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the bypass valve actuator vacuum hose at the supercharger bypass valve actuator (1).

    7. Object Number: 1644297 Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the bypass valve actuator pressure hose at the supercharger bypass valve actuator (1).

    8. Object Number: 1644304 Size: SH
  8. Remove the bypass valve actuator bolts.

    9. Object Number: 1644305 Size: SH
  9. Pivot the bypass valve actuator clockwise in order to remove the bypass valve actuator from the bypass valve actuator cable.

  10. Align the tab on the bypass valve actuator rod with the slot in the bypass valve actuator cable end.

  11. Slide the bypass valve actuator rod out of the bypass valve actuator cable.
  12. Remove the bypass valve actuator.

  13. Remove the bypass valve actuator cable bracket bolts from the supercharger.

    14. Object Number: 1644316 Size: SH
  14. Slide the bypass valve actuator cable clip off of the pin on the supercharger bypass valve.

  15. Remove the bypass valve actuator cable.

    16. Object Number: 1644322 Size: SH
  16. Do NOT remove the supercharger bypass valve (1) from the supercharger.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1644320 Size: SH
  1. Install the bypass valve actuator cable.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1644315 Size: SH
  2. Install the bypass valve actuator cable bracket bolts to the supercharger.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bypass valve actuator cable bracket bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Slide the bypass valve actuator cable clip onto the pin on the supercharger bypass valve.

    4. Object Number: 1663257 Size: SH
  4. A new cable will have a plastic spacer installed that is used to set the slack in the bypass system. Use this spacer OR the EN-47814 following the instructions below.
  5. Pull the retainer up on the wire above the bypass valve actuator cable clip in order to install the plastic spacer OR the EN-47814 . The plastic spacer OR the EN-47814 must be used to set the necessary slack in the bypass valve actuator cable.
  6. Place the EN-47814 on the cable as shown.

  7. Eliminate the slack in the bypass valve actuator cable by pressing down on the wire retainer.

  8. Install the bypass valve actuator.
  9. Align the bypass valve actuator rod to the bypass valve actuator cable.

    10. Object Number: 1644312 Size: SH
  10. Align the tab on the bypass valve actuator rod with the slot in the bypass valve actuator cable end.
  11. Slide the bypass valve actuator rod into the bypass valve actuator cable.

  12. Pivot the bypass valve actuator counter-clockwise in order to install bypass valve actuator.

  13. Loosely install the bypass valve actuator bolts.

    14. Object Number: 1644332 Size: SH
  14. Pull up on the bypass valve actuator in order to eliminate any slack in the bypass valve actuator cable.

    15. Object Number: 1644333 Size: SH
  15. Tighten the bypass valve actuator bolts while maintaining proper alignment between the bypass valve actuator and the bypass valve actuator cable.

    16. Tighten
    Tighten the bypass valve actuator bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  16. Depending on the tool used, remove the plastic spacer or the EN-47814 .

  17. Connect the bypass valve actuator pressure hose to the supercharger bypass valve actuator (1).

    18. Object Number: 1644295 Size: SH
  18. Connect the bypass valve actuator vacuum hose to the supercharger bypass valve actuator (1).

    19. Object Number: 1644293 Size: SH
  19. Install the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement.

    20. Object Number: 1685836 Size: SH
  20. Install the rear section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly. Refer to Supercharger Inlet Duct Assembly Replacement.

    21. Object Number: 1685844 Size: SH
  21. Lift the supercharger off of the workbench using EN-47748 and engine hoist.
  22. Remove the EN-47833 supercharger service holding tool fixture from the supercharger.

    23. Object Number: 1685842 Size: SH
  23. Install the supercharger. Refer to Supercharger Replacement .
