Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 551033 Size: SH
  1. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement in Engine Mechanical-4.6 L.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the oil level sensor (1).
  4. Remove the oil level sensor (1) from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the oil level sensor (1) to the oil pan.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil level sensor (1) to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  2. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the oil level sensor (1).
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement in Engine Mechanical-4.6 L.
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
