The fuel/rear compartment switch uses skin locks which grab the soft skin material of the IP. The skin lock feature may cause the switch to be difficult to remove.

1. Remove the IP end cap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
2. Push from inside of IP towards the inside of the vehicle to remove the fuel/rear compartment switch (2) from IP.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).

1. Connect the electrical connector (1).
2. Align the fuel/rear compartment switch (2) to the IP and push firmly into IP retainer.
3. Install the IP end cap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
