Is more than one memory function operating improperly?

  1. Disconnect the memory function switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between the memory function switch cavity E (BLK/WHT) and the appropriate switch cavity:
  3. • memory 1: cavity A (WHT).
    • memory 2: cavity B (PPL).
    • Set: cavity C (ORN).
  4. Press the suspect memory function button.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the RH front power window switch connector.
  2. Perform the appropriate test:
  3. • Memory 1: Connect a DMM between the appropriate memory function switch connector cavity A (WHT) and the RH front power window switch connector cavity 3 (WHT).
    • Memory 2: Connect a DMM between the appropriate memory function switch connector cavity B (PPL) and the RH front power window switch connector cavity 2 (PPL).
    • Set: Connect a DMM between the appropriate memory function switch connector cavity C (ORN) and the RH front power window switch connector cavity 4 (ORN).
  4. Press the suspect memory function button.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Replace the RH front power window switch. Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the RH front power window switch replacement complete?

  1. Disconnect the RH front power window switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the memory function switch connector.
  3. Connect a DMM from the RH front power window switch connector cavity 8 (BLK/WHT) to the memory function switch connector cavity E (BLK/WHT).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Replace the memory function switch. Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the memory function switch replacement complete?

Repair the open in the suspect wiring:

    • Memory 1: CKT 615 (WHT).
    • Memory 2: CKT 616 (PPL).
    • Set: CKT 614 (ORN).

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 451 (BLK/WHT) between the memory function switch and S601. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
