🢒 Parking Brake Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Disconnect the front parking brake cable (2) from the intermediate cable (1).
Release the front parking brake cable locking tabs and push the cable into the vehicle.
Lower the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Remove the left I/P closeout panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement
in Body and Accessories.
Remove the right I/P closeout panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement
in Body and Accessories.
Remove the left and right console side trim panels. Refer to
Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
in Body and Accessories.
Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the parking brake pedal.
Remove the front left carpet retainer.
Pull the carpet back in the left front floor pan area to expose the front park brake cable retainer and the cable pass through grommet.
Remove the parking brake cable retainer from the left front floor pan.
Unseat the cable grommet from the floor and remove the cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the front parking brake cable into the floor pan and seat the grommet.
Route the parking brake cable to the parking brake pedal.
Fasten the parking brake cable housing to the stud on the floor pan.
Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake pedal.
Reposition the floor carpeting.
Install the carpet retainers.
Install the left and right console side trim panels. Refer to
Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
in Body and Accessories.
Install the left I/P closeout panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement
in Body and Accessories.
Install the right I/P closeout panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement
in Body and Accessories.
Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Connect the front parking brake cable (2) to the intermediate cable(1).
Lower the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
