Was the entire Fog Lights System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Select INPUTS from the instrument panel integration module (IPM) DATA DISPLAY.
  4. Operate the front fog lamp switch.

Does the scan tool indicate that the switch is ON when operated and OFF when inactive?

  1. Place the front fog lamp switch in the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the underhood junction block connector C2 with a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity C11 (DK GRN/WHT).

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the FOG LP Relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Do both front fog lamps now operate properly?

Replace the underhood junction block . Refer to Underhood Fuse Block Replacement in Engine Electrical.

Is the underhood junction block replacement complete?

--

  1. Remove the FOG LP relay from the underhood junction block.
  2. Disconnect the dash integration module connector C1.
  3. Backprobe with a DMM from the underhood junction block connector C2 cavity C11 (DK GRN/WHT) to the DIM connector C1 cavity  A7 (DK GRN/WHT).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Replace the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the DIM replacement complete?

  1. Backprobe the fog lamp switch connector with a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity 2 (ORN).
  2. Press the front fog lamp switch.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in CKT 192 (ORN) between the IPM and the fog lamp switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

--

Backprobe the fog lamp switch connector with a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity 1 (BLK/WHT).

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 11

Replace the fog lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp Switch Replacement .

Is the fog lamp switch replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 351 (BLK/WHT) between the fog lamp switch and S222. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1317 (DK GRN/WHT) between the underhood junction block and the DIM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
