Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the IP retainer. Refer to IP Retaininer Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the foot rest base from the vehicle. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Pull outward the front park brake cable.
  5. Use vise grips in order to lock the cable in place.

  6. Disconnect the front park brake cable from the intermediate cable.
  7. Remove the vise grips from the front park brake cable.
  8. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  9. Disconnect the front park brake cable housing from the park brake pedal assembly.
  10. Remove the right air distribution duct from the carrier.
  11. Remove the PASS-Key® module from the bracket.
  12. Remove the brake pedal switches from the bracket. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  13. Remove the clip nut of the automatic transmission park lock cable from park brake pedal assembly.
  14. Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake pedal assembly.
  15. Remove the PASS-Key® module bracket from the carrier.
  16. Remove the park brake pedal assembly from the carrier. Refer to Park Brake Pedal Replacment in Park Brake.

  18. Disconnect the electrical connector from the driver air mix actuator.
  19. Remove the driver air mix actuator retaining screws (1).

  20. Object Number: 292146  Size: SH
  21. Remove the driver air mix actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 292146  Size: SH
  1. Install the driver air mix actuator.

  2. Object Number: 292142  Size: SH
  3. Install the driver air mix retaining screws (1).
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the actuator.
  5. Install the park brake pedal assembly to the carrier. Refer to Park Brake Pedal Replacement in Park Brake.
  6. Install the PASS-Key® module bracket to the carrier.
  7. Connect the electrical connector to the park brake pedal assembly.
  8. Install the automatic transmission park lock cable clip nut to the park brake pedal assembly.
  9. Install the brake pedal switches to the bracket. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  10. Adjust the brake pedal switches. Refer to Stoplamp Switch Adjustment in Hydraulic Brakes.
  11. Install the PASS-Key module to the bracket.
  12. Install the right air distribution duct to the carrier.
  13. Connect the front park brake cable to the park brake cable housing.
  14. Pull out the front park brake cable.
  15. Use vise grips in order to lock the cable in position.

  16. Connect the front park brake cable to the intermediate cable.
  17. Remove the vise grips from the front park brake cable.
  18. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  19. Install the foot rest base from the vehicle. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement in Interior Trim.
  20. Install the IP retainer. Refer to IP Retaininer Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
