Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 296148  Size: SH
  1. Remove the power brake booster pump fluid reservoir fasteners.
  2. Drain the fluid from the reservoir.
  3. Disconnect the fluid lines from the reservoir. Plug the fluid lines to prevent leakage and contamination.
  4. Remove the resevoir from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the fluid lines to the reservoir.
  2. Position the reservoir onto its mounting studs.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the reservoir fasteners.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the reservoir fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb ft).

  6. Fill the reservoir to the proper level and bleed the hyraulic booster system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
