Headlamp Washer System Components
The headlamp washer system consists of the following components:
• | Headlamp washer fluid level switch |
• | HDLP WASH 30A circuit breaker |
Headlamp Washer System Controls
The headlamp washer system is controlled by the following components:
• | Dash integration module |
• | Headlamp washer fluid level switch |
• | Windshield washer fluid level switch |
• | Windshield wiper washer switch |
Headlamp Washer System Operation
The headlamp washer pump is controlled by the headlamp washer module,
which is attached to the wiring harness behind the right headlamp assembly.
Battery positive voltage is supplied to the module and is used to power the
headlamp washer pump when the relay coil within the washer module is energized.
The dash integration module controls the low side of the relay coil and the
headlamps must be on for the relay to be energized. The windshield washer
pump control circuit is spliced to the headlamp washer module and is used
as a washer switch signal circuit. The headlamp washer fluid level switch
and the windshield washer fluid level switch provide a signal circuit to
the headlamp washer module and do not allow the relay to be energized when
the fluid level in either of the washer fluid reservoirs is low.
Washer Fluid Indicator
CHECK WASHER FLUID - 25
The IPC illuminates the CHECK WASHER FLUID - 25 indicator in the
DIC when the IPC detects a low washer fluid condition (signal circuit is low).
