J 39400 Electronic Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 130638  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the suction hose retaining nut from the accumulator.

  3. Object Number: 284234  Size: SH
  4. Remove the suction hose from the accumulator.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.

  7. Object Number: 130645  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the suction hose from the compressor.
  9. Remove the suction hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 130645  Size: SH
  1. Install the suction hose.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Connect the suction hose to the compressor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the suction hose to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Install the suction hose to the accumulator.

  9. Install the suction hose retaining nut.

    Tighten
    Tighten the suction hose to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  11. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  12. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component using J 39400 .
  13. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
